Open Source Geospatial Laboratory at ETH Zurich

The Open Source Geospatial Lab at ETH Zurich is focusing on Education, Open Geodata and Cartographic and Geospatial Research. We started with expertise in the following open source (geo)spatial software and technologies: QGIS Server and desktop, OpenLayers, Leaflet, PostgreSQL/PostGIS, GDAL/OGR.

The Open Source Geospatial Lab at ETH Zurich actively supports the development of open-source geospatial software technologies, training and expertise. It also aims to provide support for increasing the number and quality of open source teaching and training materials for Cartography and GIS. The Lab is part of the Institute of Cartography and Geoinformation at ETH Zurich and collaborates with Sourcepole as an industry partner.
We try to introduce our students to open source software technologies and to provide them with high-quality teaching materials, which we then publish on the lab website.

We focus on Education, Open Geodata and Cartographic and Geospatial Research.
