Faculty of Geography from University of Bucharest offers some geospatial courses integrated in more general curricula. Teaching and conducting research on geographical information science are realised using various OSGEO products, especially within the Master of Geographic Information System. Our mission is in concordance with the OSGeo/ICA Memorandum of Understanding by supporting development of open-source geospatial software technologies, open data, open standards training and expertise.
The Faculty of Geography from University of Bucharest provide an intensive educational opportunity designed to prepare students for either a career in the academia, government organisations, industry or for further organisations. We develop and teach courses on Topography and Cartography, Geospatial Analysis, Geospatial Modeling, Spatial Database and programming languages in GIS and WEB Services.
The faculty has many mapping tools and is equipped with specialized laboratories, such as: Cartography Laboratory or Remote Sensing Laboratory.
Students have the opportunity to complete their knowledge or to present their projects in Cartography or Open Source GIS thematic meetings organized by different teachers.
