POLAR is an open-source library, specifically designed for creating map clients with a wide range of functionalities. As a product from the public sector, POLAR aims to provide an easily accessible and customizable map client for web systems used by public institutions.

The map client is designed as a modular component, allowing for easy integration into various web applications and flexible data communication via defined interfaces.

POLAR’s architecture is based on a core package and a variety of plugins that cover features such as drawing, geolocation, address search, or placing pins. In addition to the existing plugins, custom plugins and specific client code can be developed to fulfill individual requirements. For generic use cases, a preconfigured client is available, which can be adapted to specific scenarios through configuration.
