Emmanuel Belo

Biography

Emmanuel Belo is Head of Geospatial Solutions at Camptocamp
, a European leader in open source software for GIS, ERP, and IT infrastructure management. He is a Geomatics Engineer (ETH Zurich, 2003) with more than 20 years of experience in spatial data management, open standards, and digital transformation.

At Camptocamp, Emmanuel is a member of the Executive Board, responsible for project portfolio management, business development, and innovation in artificial intelligence, machine learning, and geospatial applications. His work bridges technology, community, and customer needs, with a strong focus on sustainable, open, and collaborative solutions.

Since 2006, Emmanuel has been an active member of the OSGeo community. He has contributed to multiple successful crowdfunding initiatives, including those for OpenLayers and GeoServer, and has given numerous talks at FOSS4G and FOSSGIS conferences. He has also been involved in organizing and supporting community events such as international Code Sprints, and he hosted the joint OGC–Pache–OSGeo Code Sprint on open standards and open source.

Emmanuel has led numerous large-scale projects in Switzerland, France, and Germany, including web mapping infrastructures, enterprise GIS platforms, and data integration systems based on QGIS, GeoServer, and PostgreSQL/PostGIS. He actively supports the open source ecosystem through contributions, partnerships, and advocacy within the OSGeo community.
