iCarto

iCarto is a specialized GIS firm focused on the development and implementation of Open Source Geospatial technology. Based in Spain, we bridge the gap between complex spatial data and actionable intelligence, providing sustainable and scalable solutions for territorial management.

ABOUT US

At iCarto, we believe that geographic information is a fundamental pillar for the sustainable development of society. Since our founding, we have been committed to the Free and Open Source Software (FOSS4G) philosophy, not just as users, but as active contributors to the ecosystem.

We specialize in creating tailored GIS solutions that empower organizations to manage their resources more efficiently. Our approach combines rigorous engineering with agile development, ensuring that our clients—ranging from public administrations to international cooperation agencies—have full sovereignty over their data and technology.

WHY CHOOSE ICARTO?

  • Commitment to Open Source: We avoid vendor lock-in, ensuring our clients own their solutions.

  • Field-Proven Experience: We don’t just work from the office. Our team has extensive on-the-ground experience in numerous countries, deploying solutions in diverse and challenging environments.

  • Context-Driven Solutions: We believe technology should serve the environment, not the other way around. We never force a pre-defined tool; instead, we adapt every solution to the specific social, technical, and geographical context of the project.

  • Versatile Partnership: We have a proven track record of collaborating with a wide range of organizations, from local public administrations to large international cooperation agencies, adapting our workflow to their unique needs.

  • Beyond being experts, we are riquiñas: Coming from our Galician roots, riquiña/o is a word that is hard to translate but easy to feel. It’s more than just being “nice” or “kind”. It describes someone who is genuinely helpful, approachable, trustworthy, and a bit charming.
