The Open Source Geospatial Foundation (OSGeo), represented by Professor Helena Mitasova, vice-president of OSGeo
and the University Consortium for Geographic Information Science (UCGIS), represented by Professor Elizabeth Wentz, president of UCGIS, have signed a
Memorandum of Understanding (MoU)
to establish a collaborative relationship between the members of the UCGIS and OSGeo communities.
The goal of the MoU is to encourage the development and distribution of open access educational resources,
and work on a cooperative research agenda for open source geospatial science.
Among other activities, the groups will use webinars to develop, share, and exchange ideas and information
