FOSS4G-NA 2013 follows on the success of the 2012 conference held in Washington\, DC. This regional event complements the larger FOSS4G International Conference\, the leading global conference organized by OSGeo focusing on Free and Open Source Software for Geospatial. The 2013 FOSS4G International Conference is currently scheduled for September 17-21 in Nottingham\, UK.

The code sprint focusses collaboration between open source software developers. People can share experiences and come up with creative new ideas and collaborations. The week allows developers to actively work together and get their hands dirty coding great new stuff.
You are welcome to sign up and join the group. There is limited space (25 beds) so please book your place as soon as possible to guarantee your place. Full boarding for the week\, including food\, is 550 Euro (excl VAT) per person\, the same as last year.

It will be an interesting opportunity to confront different points of view in order to establish the direction OSGeo is/should be heading for.
The presentations of the day can be divided into three main blocks\:
1) Those that focus on the fundamentals of open source geospatial software\, the basic concepts/definitions and goals
2) Presentations that go into user experiences
3) Suppliers’ presentations
During the panel discussion afterwards\, all participants (the audience included) will get a chance to discuss pending questions\, concerns and give further information. Finally\, all the information gathered during the day\, will be distilled into a number of concluding remarks.
